May 16th, 2008

Last weekend Kathleen Penny, Cathy Wiliams, Brandon Parker and I drove down to Miami FLorida. We met up with Lindsay Bell and the rest of the Miami Ski Nautique shop employees who were hosting the Maven Miami session. We had around 30 girls come out and learn how to wakeboard and wakeskate it was a huge success all the girls left happy and wanting to keep wakeboarding and wakeskating.

Broken Leg :(

April 22nd, 2008

Friday Feb 8th, 2008 I flew into Dallas Texas to attend the Dallas Fort Worth Boat show. I was there to represent Liquid Force and the rest of my sponsors. Friday night all the pro riders were invited to ride in Boardshorts, Bulls and Bikinis rail jam at Gilleys brought to you by Step Up Productions. Friday night around 9pm in the 40-degree we started the rail jam, the wakeboarders went first with two heats of 7 riders then the wakeskaters went with one heat of 4 riders. All the riders got three hits at the rail (either one) and the judges then chose the riders to move on. On my third (last) chance to hit the rail I ollied onto the up rail and as I started to slide up the rail my back foot came off my wakeskate and off the side of the rail causing it to hit the gap in the rail decking on the way up the rail. After landing into the landing pool at the end of the rail without my wakeskate of course I was holding my leg close to me thinking/knowing that my leg hit that rail in such a way that I had never felt my leg bend before. Rusty Malanoski and others helped lift me out of the pool to be placed in the old Liquid Force Trip Across America Bus that now belongs to Glen Morris LF rep of Texas. From the bus I was then taken to Bayler hospital by ambulance where my best friend Brandon Parker and family met up with me. I was in the hospital until 4am that morning to find out the bad news that I had a broken Tibia bone in my left leg but the good news was that It was a clean break and that I did not need any pins or any resetting of my broken leg. I am now back in Orlando where I have a fancy purple with black striped cast and am working of clothing designs from home for UGP and dreaming about wakeskating and skating the mini ramp again soon. I really want to thank all the people who sent me kind wishes of a speedy recovery, and thanks to  the Parker family, Heidi and the wake outlaws, Rusty, Glen and his wife, Bill and his wife and whoever gave me their Reef size 32 boardshorts for when I had nothing to wear after my wetsuit, shorts and wakeskate shoes were cut off me. For now I will be getting used to my crutches and watching more Sex and the City and finishing the last episode of My Name is Earl.

Foam Magazine 2008 Swim Issue

April 17th, 2008

Back in January I got a call from Foam magazine saying that they wanted to interview me for their 2008 swimsuit issue. Foam was featuring 4 top female athletes that wear bikinis when they perform their sport. I was along sides of Pro Surfer World champion Stephanie Gilmore, Pro volleyball player Gabrielle Reece and Olympic swimmer Amanda Beard. Please check out the Swim 2008 issue page 24

The Standerd Quarterly 2.1

April 17th, 2008

Please check out the issue of the Standerd Wake Quarterly page 23. pic #29 photo courtesy of Brandon Parker. Brandon Parker shot with a holga camera using negative film and his camera wrapped in a zip lock bag while riding along side of me in the water. the water was cold that day and let me add that Brandon riding along side of me for the shot was pretty painful for him since I somehow managed to have both of brandons shins bashed by my wakeskate right before he took this shot. So i s hould feel thankful he kept with it to get this artzy shot.

    Board Up Miami

    April 17th, 2008

Saturday night I made it down to Virginia key south of Miami Beach where the first contest of the 2008 season was being held. Marine Stadium held the Board Up Miami contest where i went down with my broken leg to give some support to Miami Ski Nautique my home shop ! It felt like over a 100 degrees that day as we all know it like 30 degrees warmer in Miami always than Orlando. I got a nice sunburn to prove it :) My UGP fighter board shorts came in handy as i went down wearing all black and almost melted before i got to the beach :)
